cheapest prices you may find at the french railways - have a look here:
it is all in french language, but not difficult to understand. the earlier you book, the cheaper.
1) choose “train”
2) choose “train seil” (train only) + depart BALE (basel), destination paris, date, class, number of persons
you also can have a look to the timetable first. afterwards book as told above and pay by credit card.
or first view the timetable of (swiss railways), there are indicated all lines to and from switzerland.
cheap and good to stay in paris (as someone told before) are hotels of the accor group, like formule 1, etap, mercure, novotel and others.
