mlim310 asked:
I am planning a trip to Italy/Switzerland/Germany (and possibly Prague) in mid-August, but lots of people tell me I shouldn’t go because lots of places will be shut down due to the long vacations that Europeans take in mid August. Is this true? I am only planning to stay in Italy for 2-3 days, and 2-3days in Switzerland - beginning August 7th or 8th. Please help!

Simple asked: My friend and I intend to make a trip to Switzerland from Singapore either free and easy or through package tour. Would like to know which will be the best option to source and book our air fare tickets. Is there any travel agency to recommend? We hope can get an affordable price for this travel.
Is there any website we can visit to tell us in getting around Switzerland? that’s include accommodation. Please advise. Thanks

Duke asked: I’m travelling with my wife to these five countries. I think I’m gonna start with Austria and so on.
How cold is it in the above countries between Dec 14 and Jan 14?
Where do you suggest we should stay and how we should make our trip plan?
We really need some help on this trip plan. If anybody knows any good tip for our trip, i’d really appreciate.
Anything will help. Any suggesting for travelling to Europe.

carokokos asked:
I need a Schengen visa to visit most European countries, but can apparently get a visa upon entry to Switzerland without organising one beforehand. My question is, once I’m then in Switzerland, is there anything to prevent me travelling to other places like France and italy? As far as I know most European border control has gone with the EU. Or is that just between Schengen states? Any help appreciated.
PS (Am travelling from the UK, where I’m resident, on a South African passport)
Supreme One - thanks for that site. As far as I can see the visa requirements for a South African passport holder fall into the V1 category - which means we’re “released from the obligation of a visa” (their words) in certain circumstances - one being for tourist stays of less than 3 months.

Khairul F asked: I’m planning to travel to Switzerland, Austria and Czech Rep this summer via train from UK. One of the cheapest options is to buy the Global Pass, which is only for European residents. However I’m not a European resident, which means that I need to find another cheap options to travel. Can anyone give any suggestions?
